Legal basis

We process personal data where it is necessary to respond to your request, to perform or prepare for a contract for legal services, to comply with our legal and professional obligations (including under the Advocates Act and anti-money-laundering legislation), or with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

Confidentiality and professional privilege

Information you share with the Firm in the course of seeking or receiving legal services is additionally protected by advocate-client confidentiality and, where applicable, legal professional privilege. Nothing in this policy reduces those protections.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate this website and our practice (such as hosting and payment processing) under appropriate safeguards, or where disclosure is required by law, a court, or a regulator.

Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and thereafter as required by our professional record-keeping obligations. Recruitment data for unsuccessful applications is deleted within twelve months unless you ask us to keep it on file.

Security

Client documents and applications are stored in access-controlled areas; portal access requires authentication; and administrative access to this website is restricted and monitored. No internet transmission is perfectly secure, but we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we hold.

Your rights

Subject to law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any right, email info@finandlaw.co.tz. You may also lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission of Tanzania.
