About the role

Our trainee programme is a structured route to qualification for aspiring advocates - combining supervised practice, formal training and steadily increasing responsibility on the path to admission to the Bar.

As a trainee advocate you will rotate across the firm’s practice areas, work under the close supervision of experienced advocates, and take on real matters as your skills develop. We are committed to producing well-rounded, confident and ethical practitioners, and we support our trainees at every stage of the journey to admission.

What you'll do

  • Support advocates on live matters across corporate, disputes, property and regulatory work
  • Draft pleadings, contracts, opinions and correspondence under supervision
  • Conduct legal research and prepare case and transaction materials
  • Attend court, tribunals, client meetings and negotiations
  • Manage files and deadlines with growing independence
  • Complete the training and assessments required for admission to the Bar

Who we're looking for

  • LLB graduate who has completed (or is completing) the Law School of Tanzania programme
  • Eligible to undertake pupillage / practical training towards admission as an Advocate
  • Strong academic foundation and sound legal reasoning
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Kiswahili
  • Integrity, diligence and a strong work ethic
  • The ambition to build a long-term career in legal practice
