Associate, Corporate & Commercial

We are looking for a talented advocate to join our Corporate and Commercial practice - the backbone of the firm - working on transactions, governance and commercial advisory for some of Tanzania’s most significant businesses.

This is a role with real responsibility from the outset. You will work directly with partners on live matters, develop deep technical expertise, and build the client relationships that define a strong legal career. We support our associates with structured mentorship, training and a clear, merit-based path to progression.

What you'll do

• Advise on company formation, structuring and corporate governance
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, shareholder and joint-venture agreements
• Support acquisitions, financing and due-diligence exercises through to completion
• Advise on regulatory licensing, approvals and ongoing compliance
• Manage client relationships and day-to-day client communications
• Research and advise on points of Tanzanian and East African Community law

Who we're looking for

• LLB and admission (or eligibility for admission) as an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania
• Two to four years' post-qualification experience in corporate or commercial law
• Strong drafting, analytical and legal-research skills
• Excellent written and spoken English and Kiswahili
• Commercial awareness and a genuinely client-focused mindset
• The ability to manage competing deadlines with rigour and attention to detail
