Biography

Eric Frank Ringo is a Principal Partner at FIN & LAW, an Advocate and Arbitrator in Tanzania. Eric has over 20 years’ post-qualification practice focusing on tax, corporate, commercial and investment law. His practice areas include mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, banking and financial transactions, commercial contracts and project management, public-private partnerships, wealth management, and advisory on foreign investment in Tanzania.

Eric regularly advises leading domestic, regional and international companies - including those listed on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange, numerous private companies, foreign embassies and consulates, and some of Tanzania’s largest state corporations.

He counsels on all aspects of tax and investment law for entities setting up in Tanzania, banking law, and public-private partnerships, as well as M&A matters including preparing companies for sale, due diligence, transaction finance, and the drafting and negotiation of transaction documentation. Within company law, Eric advises on restructuring and reconstruction, raising capital, and shareholder-agreement issues.

Eric is also an expert arbitrator and is presently a Member of the Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators; in recognition of his industry knowledge and legal expertise, he is often appointed to act as arbitrator on complex commercial disputes. He is a member of the Tanganyika Law Society, the East Africa Law Society and the International Bar Association. Eric holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Dar es Salaam, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the Institute of Finance Management, and a Master of Laws and Business from Bucerius Law School in Germany.
