In a public statement issued by EWURA through its website, it mentioned FIN & LAW among 172 entities that were nominated to provide services in several categories. Part of the statements reads, “Pursuant to Regulation 38(1) of the Petroleum (Local Content) Regulations, 2017, the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority “the Authority” informs the petroleum industry operators, suppliers, service providers and the general public that the Local Suppliers and Service Providers Database for the year 2018 “LSSP2018” with one hundred seventy (172) local business entities has been approved by the Authority. The approved list will be eligible to participate in the provision of various goods and services in the petroleum midstream and downstream activities in Mainland Tanzania for the year 2018”. The statement was issued by EWURA on Monday, 11^th June, 2018.

The process for the registration and nomination of the qualified entities began in January, 2018 to March, 2018. Out of many applications only 172 entities were qualified. The Local Suppliers and Service Providers is an important tool for facilitating national participation in the country’s oil and gas sector in respect of midstream and downstream by enhancing the visibility of Tanzanian enterprises with the potential of offering a wide spectrum of goods and services in the oil and gas sector in Tanzania.
